Do you charge per m² or per room?
Both, depending on the job. Walls, ceilings and roofs are priced per m². Doors and trims are priced each. A single room, a bathroom, a 3-bedroom interior and a full exterior also have ready project prices, so you can see a starting price without measuring.
If you are measuring, count walls and ceilings, not the floor. As a guide, a 4 x 4 m room is about 60 m² of walls and ceiling. For outside walls, measure the walls, not the floor plan. If you are not sure, tap Not sure on the form and the quote will confirm the size.
Should I fix damp before I repaint?
Yes. Paint put over a damp wall or a leaking roof edge will usually blister and peel again, because the water is still coming through. If you see stains, bubbles or flaking where a wall meets the roof, a balcony or a gutter, look at the cause first.
Oaks also does waterproofing, so you can ask about both when you request a price.
How do I know it is time to repaint?
Look for paint that flakes or peels, chalky colour that rubs off on your hand, hairline cracks along walls and trims, and bare patches on doors and window frames. Bare timber and metal trims are the first places weather gets in.

How do I pay for a painting job?
You pay a 50% deposit before work starts and the balance on completion. Your quote is valid for 14 days. If extra work comes up, it gets a new quote.
